Laver cup-Roger Federer will play last match of career
World’s legendary tennis player Roger Federer will enter the Laver Cup, his last tournament of his career, on Friday (23 September). The Laver Cup tournament will be played in London. Laver cup-Roger Federer will play last match of his career.He will enter the men’s doubles pairing with Spain’s Rafael Nadal, who won the most Grand Slams in his last match. Federer will play for Team Europe. Federer and Nadal will face Team World players Frances Tiafo and Jack Sock of America.
Federer will not compete in a singles match in the Laver Cup. He could not play for long due to knee problem. Federer said, “I don’t know whether I will be able to play well or not, but I will definitely try.” This is a different experience. I am happy to see him (Nadal) in my team and not play against him.”
Nadal said he was looking forward to an “unforgettable” match with his Swiss rival. “The most important players in my tennis career are now leaving the game. This moment will be difficult. I am so excited and grateful to be playing with him.”
Team Europe is gearing up for the 2022 edition of the Laver Cup with a dream line-up. Nadal, Federer, Djokovic and Murray are known as the Big Four of world tennis. These four players have dominated tennis in the 21st century so far. Together these four have won 66 of the last 76 Grand Slam tournaments.
Former tennis great Bjorn Berg will be seen captaining Team Europe. At the same time, this team will face Team World. Team World will be captained by former legend John McEnroe.
The Europe team has won the Laver Cup title for the third time in a row. In the deciding match, Alexander Zverev of Germany defeated Milos Raonic of Canada and allowed the trophy to remain with Europe.
